Learning English

Famously referred to as the global language, English is spoken by 1,35 billion people around the world, 350 million of which are native English speakers. Not only is it the language most commonly used for trade and diplomatic engagements, but it is also known as the language of science, aviation, computers and tourism.

Designed by our founder, Stephanie Schaffrath, Linguistika's English syllabus strives to make learning the language more understandable and enjoyable for individuals of German, French and Portuguese descent, as well as English speakers who need to obtain PTE and IELTS certification. Through working alongside each of our language directors, we have created a method of learning that strives to make English more accessible by drawing connections between new content and the languages our students already speak.

Private / Semi-Private Tuition

Confidence is key to learning and mastering any language. Through working privately, each student is given the opportunity to bond with their tutor allowing for a deeper connection and a learning environment where they feel comfortable and safe. The tutor is able to adapt the lesson to the student, allowing for a more focused approach and, in turn, faster progress.

Languages by their very nature are, however, social and interactive, which is why we also offer a semiprivate option for our younger students allowing them to learn from their peers as well as their tutor.

Homework Support

Research has found that children who grow up bilingual have a natural advantage over their monolingual peers. However, being educated in a foreign language presents a unique set of challenges for both  scholars and their parents.

Our team takes pride in helping families overcome that language barrier by assisting young individuals with their academics and nurturing them to reach their true potential.

Our mission is to equip scholars with the language skills they need to continue thriving without the assistance of a tutor.

Small Group Courses

Practicing a language is vital to being fluent. For this reason, we host group courses for adult students seeking a more affordable alternative to having multiple weekly lessons.
Each week, a maximum of five students attend two group lectures, where concepts are explained and demonstrated, and one private lesson with a tutor to allow students to practice and revise all concepts covered during the lectures.

This blended method of learning ensures the perfect balance between regular practice, self-study and individualised attention.

Special Reading Programme

In a word where almost every day-to-day activity involves the skill of reading, it is incredibly concerning when a child struggles to master this vital life skill. Though this is something some take for granted, others may struggle for years before finally learning to read at a moderate level.

Having a firm grasp of English phonics and sight words is key to mastering the skill of reading fluency. At Linguistika we pride ourselves in assisting primary school children who struggle to read through teaching them the foundations of reading and in turn, nurturing them to achieve their true potential.

Exam Prep Workshops

For students wishing to emigrate to English-speaking countries, passing a language examination is a basic visa requirement.

At Linguistika we specialise in PTE and IELTS exam preparation workshops for native English-speakers looking to move to countries such as Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand and the United States.

Through presenting the exam structure and providing useful language tips, we strive to leave our workshop participants feeling confident and prepared for their next life chapter.
